Blade

Period: Kanei era (AD 1624), Edo period.

Mei: Kanemoto

Sugata: Shinogi-zukuri, tori-zori, iori-mune.

Overall length: 24.41 inches (620.00 mm).

Nagasa: 19.29 inches (490.00 mm).

Nakago: 5.12 inches (130.00 mm). Ubu, one mekugi-ana, iriyama gata nakago jiri. Yasurime difficult to see but sujikai.

Kissaki: Chu-kissaki, 48.50 mm. Midarekomi, hakikake boshi.

Moto-haba: 1.04 inches (26.30 mm). Saki-haba: 0.82 inches (20.80 mm). Moto-gasane: 0.24 inches (6.20 mm). Saki-gasane: 0.17 inches (4.20 mm).

Sori: 0.55 inches (14.00 mm).

Hamon: Gunome with ko-ashi, sunagashi and kinsuji.

Hada: Itame and masame, with utsuri in the jigane.

Blade condition: Freshly polished, no fatal flaws - see pictures.

Mounts:

Old original han-tachi koshirae. These are in very good condition.

Comments:

This sword is by Kanemoto of Mino prefecture. This smith is of the late Magoroku Kanemoto school.
