Period: Shinshinto.

Mei: Mumei.

Sugata: Shinogi-zukuri, tori-zori, iori-mune.

Overall length: 34.84 inches (885.00 mm)

Nagasa: 27.56 inches (700.00 mm) long.

Nakago: Ubu,7.28 inches (185.00 mm), sides almost parallel, one mekugi-ana, ha-agari kuri-jiri. The yasurime are katte-sagari.

Kissaki: Chu-kissaki, 1.35 inches (34.25 mm). The boshi looks like kaen.

Moto-haba: 1.24 inches (31.50 mm). Moto-gasane: 0.28 inches (7.10 mm). Saki-haba: 0.76 inches (19.50 mm). Saki-gasane: 0.20 inches (5.00 mm).

Sori: 1.02 inches (26.00 mm)

Hamon: An irregular gunome.

Hada: Looks like a very fine itame.

Blade condition:

In reasonable polish with very minor surface scratches.


In koshirae (see pictures). Nice, dark red, wakasa-nuri lacquered saya, signed tsuba and fuchi-kashira. The habaki seems to be silver. The kashira has an image of a samurai riding his horse at a gallop through waves.


Quite a nice looking sword. Possibly Bizen-den.
