Mei: Bingo kuni ju Tanioka Yasutsugu, with the smith's kokuin seal

Sugata: Shinogi-zukuri, tori-zori, iori-mune.

Overall length: 32.68 inches (830.00 mm).

Nagasa: 24.80 inches (630.00 mm).

Nakago: 7.87 inches (200.00 mm).

Kissaki: O-kissaki, 2.15 inches (54.70) mm long. There is no turnback on the boshi.

Moto-haba: 1.24 inches (31.50 mm). Saki-haba: 0.86 inches (22.00 mm). Moto-gasane: 0.27 inches (6.90 mm). Saki-gasane: 0.20 inches (5.20 mm).

Sori: 0.67 inches (17.00 mm).

Hamon: Midare

Hada: Itame.

Blade condition: In fairly good polish. No chips, ware or fatal flaws. Some pitting on the kissaki.


In Showa civilian mounts, with an old signed iron tsuba. The retention strap has been professionally replaced.


Listed as Ge Saku by Kurihara Hikosaburo in 1942. Not a great deal known about him other than he was a trained swordsmith from Hiroshima.
